Sacred Tsum Valley Region, restricted until 2008 lies at the edge of most secluded High Himalayan Lap. The region is regarded as one of the most secret Himalayan Buddhist Valley. Amazing Landscape, dotted with mani walls and chortens, trek takes you into the majestic surroundings of the Boudha Himal, Ganesh Himal Ranges.
Very limited adventure travelers have scaled this trans-Himalayan and mysterious land which used to be an important trade route to Tibet. The people of Tsum Valley, called themselves βTsumbasβ belong to Tibetan origin having own ancient form of dialect, religion, art and fascinating high Himalayan culture.
Tsum is said to be a beyul is one of eight sacred hidden valleys in the Inner Himalayas which 8th century Great Guru Padmasambhava blessed as refuges to be discovered when the planet is approaching destruction and refuge for people fleeing from the adverse effects of war, religious persecution or famine and the world becomes too corrupt for spiritual rituals and practices. The Tsum Valley carries a history of ancient Himalayan civilization, art, culture, tradition, customs, religion and even thinking and they are valleys reminiscent of paradise, which can only be reached with enormous hardship with pure mind and heart.
The altitude and geographical variation of Tsum Valley trek varies from 600m in Arughat to over 5093m at Ngula Dhojhyang pass on the Tibetan border.
The region is a virgin land, less beaten and is comparatively still less exposed to the more popular regions. This may sounds quite surprising for many outsiders, all the brothers in the family are married to a single girl, what you may call a practice of polyandry but less practice these days. This is their own ancient way of family life and their society and culture.
While heading toward Tsum valley leaving main Manaslu, suddenly we get a feeling of entering truly into the hidden valley with many high Himalayan passes, glacial rivers, through the alpine forests and warm welcome of ethnic people.
The remote valley trek is spectacular with less than luxurious accommodation but the views of Mt. Manaslu, eighth highest Peak of the world is exclusively marvelous and jaw dropping.
Highlight of your Nepal Trip would be, confrontation with strong, friendly, hospitable people, a living Buddhist culture and untouched wildlife because of Buddhist prohibitions on hunting. The people are poor, since they have been bypassed by development for centuries, but this means their unique culture has remained unspoiled.
Stay clean while in trek to Tsum Valley is not possible.

I met Dhawa as our guide on Annapurna Base Camp Trek. He talked about Nepal, the local people and areas of Nepal including the Annapurna region and its settlements, and cultural connection with the tradition of going as a Gurkha soldier. This proved to be incredibly important for me, as I don't think I would have been enlightened with such a beautiful historic, cultural, and ethnic richness. I had...
My first contact with Nepal was with our guide called Dhawa. From the first day he was very helpful and very friendly. What impressed us the most was, how well he knows the history of his Country. There was no question he did not know how to answer and the places he had not been. At the same time, he was excellent company and satisfied our every request. Every recommendation for my favorite guide....
