Trip Overview

Mt. Mardi (Mardi Himal) is separate, not very high peak as its height is just 5587m lies just beneath as a frontal face of paramount Mt. Fishtail in Annapurna region of Nepal. Its record of summiting goes back to the date of 1961 by Colonel Basil Goodfellow from United Kingdom.

Mardi route is moderately new in the Annapurna Region. It was not noticed and popular until opened for trekking in the year 2012, following a ridgeline towards the summit. With the good arrangement of lodges and teahouses till high camp 3550m, trekkers and climbers can elevate themselves up to base camp 4500m and even further climb to summit the top. The Mardi peak has been classified by the Nepalese government as a “trekking peak” and one can try claim its top. It became popular in short time frame reason may be is relatively short but one can experience diversity from forested land to Yak grazing meadows and to rocky ridgelines overlooking all direction offering amazing mountain views.

The gateway town of Mardi Himal Trek is also Pokhara just like many other Annapurna routes. From Pokhara, after a short drive (an hour) you reach to Kande. From Kande you start trekking following the short but steep trail to Australian Camp. This place offers one of the best view of Annapurna Range. Trail penetrate through the rhododendron forest with some villages and tea shop stops. Vegetation change after reaching 3300m when the trail takes on a rugged mountain setting with spectacular views of Mardi Himal, Annapurna South and beautiful Machhapuchchhre (Fishtail).

Trail offers probably the best view of Machhapuchchhre, Annapurna Range in Nepal along with sunrise and sunset views. Mardi Himal Basecamp itself with views overlooking all of the Annapurna range but there are no guesthouses in Mardi Base Camp. Returning will be same route from High camp to low camp and then steep descending through the thick forest to Sidding and Lumre where trekking ends. After that, you drive back to Pokhara with the following of Kathmandu.

You can experience the Local Cultural richness, majestic view of Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Mardi, and Mt. fishtail and whole Annapurna Massifs. Many tourists came to Nepal for adventure trekking experience and Mardi Himal Trek is suitable in terms of easy to moderate level trekking destination in Nepal and due to reason that it doable in every season in Nepal.

Definitely Recommend joining Dhawa on any Treks

He talked about Nepal, the local people and areas of Nepal including the Annapurna region and its settlements, and cultural connection with the tradition of going as a Gurkha soldier. This proved to be incredibly important for me, as I don't think I would have been enlightened with such a beautiful historic, cultural, and ethnic richness. I had...

Excellent company and Satisfied our every request

My first contact with Nepal was with our guide called Dhawa. From the first day he was very helpful and very friendly. What impressed us the most was, how well he knows the history of his Country. There was no question he did not know how to answer and the places he had not been. At the same time, he was excellent company and satisfied our every request. Every recommendation for my favorite guide....
