Tibet

Now part of China, Tibet autonomous region is the traditional homeland of Tibetan people. Covered most of the Tibetan plateau expanding around 2.5 million square kilometer, Tibet is regarded as the roof of the world because its average elevation is 4380m. Co-bordering with highest mountains of the world like Mt. Everest 8848m, Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho Oyu, the actual highest peak of Tibet is Shisapangma (8027m).

Tibet was started forming actually around 7th century with the rise of Tibetan Empire. In its peak it was extended from central Asian Tarim basin and Pamirs to Yunnan and Bengal in southeast but its disintegration started accordingly.

The current border of the Tibet were actually established in 18 century. Tibet was fully occupied and annexed to China in 1951AD.

Tourism is the major and largest sector of earning for Tibet. The dominant religion of Tibet is Buddhism whereas small percentage of old religion Bonism is still exist in some parts of Tibet. Tibetans are rich in culture and their high mountain lifestyles. Barley, Yak herding are the major engagements of local.
