In the beginning, we visit the lively and colorful Kathmandu valley. We take off for Lhasa –capital of Tibet, flying over the Great Himalayas of the world’s highest. We stay for 3nights exploring the different attractions of the Lhasa city primarily most beautiful Potala palace, Jokhang Temple, Drepung monastery, oldest Samye monastery etc. including acclimatization with the high altitude.
Trip runs across the high land Tibetan plateau, crossing yak pastureland, nomadic herdsmen huts, Tibetan locals, villages, lakes, rivers, high-mountain passes with rewarding continuous view of World’s highest peaks including Mt. Everest. Trip facilitate welcoming you from beautiful Tibetan villages and towns like Gyantse, Shitagtse, Rongbuk and amazing encounter with the north face of World’s highest peak Mt. Everest 8848.86m from its north basecamp.Â
This comfortable roadway trip mostly travel through the good black toped road except some sections like border area is landside prose zone because of the speed high rising mountains which ultimately connects middle range valleys of Nepal crossing Himalayas to highest Tibetan plateau.

Day 04: lhasa sightseeing, jokhang, drepung, sera monastery
Day 05: visit potala palace and drive to brahmaputra river, visit samye monastery
Day 06: drive khamba la to nagar tse
Day 07: drive to karo la to gyantse, visit the famous kumbum stupa
Day 08: drive shigatse, visit tashilunpo monastery.
Day 09: drive to shegar
Day 10: drive to ronbuk monastery, visit everest north basecamp
Day 11: exploration day at ronbuk
Day 12: drive to kerung
Day 13: cross the border friendship bridge, drive back to kathmandu.
Day 14: final departure

Breakfast and start full day sightseeing of:
i) Pashupatinath temple – regarded as the most sacred temple of Hindu Lord Shiva, with its astonishing architectural beauty, stands as a symbol of faith, religion, culture and tradition. Temple’s existence dates back to 4TH Century AD and the richly ornamented pagoda Style temple, houses the sacred 5 faced unique Linga or phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. Thousands of Pilgrims from all over the world come to pay homage to this holiest Hindu Shrine which is also known to be “Temple of Living Beings”
ii) Boudhanath stupa - also called by many as Khasti Chaitya or Jyarung Khasyor, is one of the oldest and largest stupa and is one of the Nepal’s as well as World’s most important Buddhist site and one of the biggest tourist attraction in Kathmandu Valley.
Located in Kathmandu’s Suburbs, east from the city center and its 43.25m high white stupa can be seen from far away.
Stupa is said to be built on an ancient trade route to Tibet at a site where merchants stopped to pray and legends insist that it dates back to 4th Century AD.
iii) Swayambhunath Stupa –The Most Enigmatic Holy Stupa situated on the top of green hill, on the west of Kathmandu, is one of the most popular, holy and instantly recognizable symbols of Kathmandu. The temple is popularly known as the 'Monkey Temple' because of the large tribe of roving monkeys who guards the temple Area.
iv) Ancient Buddhist City of Fine Arts” Patan Durbar Square Complex
situated in the center of Patan city Mangal bazaar, also known as Lalitpur, houses the residence of the former Patan royal King and family, surroundings are good specimen of ancient rich Newari architecture. There are three main courtyards in the palace Area; Mul chowk, Sundari Chowk and Keshav Narayan Chowk. Mul chowk, the oldest one is at the center of Patan Durbar Square. Several multi-sized and multi-styled temples can be found in the western part of the complex. Major among these are Krishna Temple, Bhimsen Temple and Golden Temple of Hiranya Varna. Bit distance away from Complex is Golden Spout Courtyard and Famous Mahabuddha Temple.

Transfer to International airport for flight to Lhasa. After approx. 90 minutes flight flying over the world’s highest peaks Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu will be reaching to the capital city Lhasa of Tibetan people, drive for another 45minutes to reach the city from the airport. Check in and rest. There is a common chance of AMS (Altitude Mountain Sickness), therefore for us, next 4days will be a good acclimatization stay and tour inside Lhasa which stands at the altitude of 3656m from sea level.
After having breakfast, we ready to start our day with the sightseeing of some beautiful sites. Visit Jokhang Temple which believed to be constructed in 7th century, one of the very first Buddhist Temple of Tibetan region. Visit Barkor -a typical and historic street, visit religious and most famous Drepung Monastery and Sera monastery too. Rest for the day. Overnight.
Morning breakfast and go for the visit of most enigmatic and grandest Potala palace –the seat and palace of religious leader Dalai Lama. Lies on the top of small hill section inside the city called Red Hill, the Potala Palace truly dominates the City and it’s sky too. Visit Norbulinka – the summer palace of Dalai Lamas.
We drive for an hour to reach to the bank of mighty Brahmaputra river or Yarlung Tsangpo, we cross and drive bit further half an hour where religious and regarded as the oldest Samye Monastery. Samya monastery’s construction is related with the entrance of the Buddhist in ancient Bon Tibet.
Overnight.
Wake up early to witness morning pray and offering at the monastery. We retrace back the same route and take friendship highway for drive toward Kathmandu running through the world’s highest altitudes.
We continue our journey passing over the pass Khamba La (4800m), stunning view of Namdrok Lake and Mt. Najin Kang Sa (7252m). Far beyond of the lake is small town Nagar tse, our night spot. Visit local monastery Samding. Overnight.
We continue drive observing the Himalayas that lies in Bhutan toward west and our drive climbs further up, crossing Karo La (5050m) which offer amazing sights of lakes , mountains and Tibetan high mountain plains. We descend down crossing other smaller passes and beautiful small villages, settlements, finally reaching to fort valley Gyantse. We visit very famous and spectacular large complex Kumnbum Monastery and others. Overnight.
Breakfast and further short drive for an hour approx. will bring us to Shigatse –the second largest city of Tibet. This beautiful old city is house to the many beautiful monasteries, stupas. Visit extremely important and most famous TashiLunpo Monastery and its large complex which includes many prayer wheels, small shrines, rock inscriptions and other interestings. Overnight.
We continue our journey toward southwest. We cross Brahmaputra River and then road gradually climbs to the highest pass Gyamtso La (5220m). We will have the first look of Mt. Everest, fifth highest Makalu (8481m), fourth highest Lhotse (8516m) and Cho Oyu (8188m) while descending. We come across passing nomadic herders, pasturelands and lonely Tibetan settlements, wild lonely monasteries on our way. We reach Shelkar and Overnight.
We leave the friendship highway and drive southward toward the greatest wall of Himalayas. While drive up and finally down, Everest starts to appear in front of us. We reach Rongbuk valley and monastery. Overnight.
We will send 2nd day in rongbuk valley for the exploration and rest. We will visit Everest North basecamp (5200m), rongbuk glacier and the rongbuk monastery (5000m) –the highest monastery in the world and valley itself. Overnight.
We retrace back to friendship highway and continue drive toward southwest to Nepal Border. We still can observe Mt. Everest and sixth highest Mt. Cho Oyu while driving down. Now we started seeing Mt. Gauri Shankar toward south along with beautiful and one of the eight thousand Shisapangma 8027m. This descending from Tibetan Plateau of 5200m to Trishuli 600m is the longest road descend. We reach to the kerung. Overnight.
Drive down to border between China and Nepal, cross the border, necessary immigration formalities and we continue heading toward Kathmandu (1350m). We drive to beautiful hill-station Nagarkot (2187m). Overnight.
Morning enjoy the beautiful view of sunrise and mountains, hills, villages. Breakfast and timely transfer to International airport for your flight back with beautiful memories of lifetime.
