For people who are not aware of the World’s tallest peak; Everest, it is the world’s highest mountain with a height of 8848m (29029ft) located in Nepal and officially recognized in Nepal and China. In Nepal, it is known as Sagarmatha, whereas in China it is known as Zhumulangma. Its summit point has the International borders of China and Nepal. Some Facts about Mount Everest While it takes 10-16 days for a trekker to reach the summit point of Everest, it took 10 hours and 45 minutes for Lakpa Gelu Sherpa to reach the top of Mount Everest. He managed to hold this achievement in 2003. In Buddhist Culture, Mount Everest is considered to be the Goddess Mother of Mountains. Hence, the mountain is then considered to be a sacred place where all mountaineers need to seek permission before even stepping on it.
